Trac Clipper Moped Daelim M-56E Engine Cylinder Cover or Cylinder Head with mounting nuts and washers. This is the part the spark plug fits into and it is easy for a home mechanic to replace. Includes 4 M6 mounting bolts and 8 M6 mounting washers. Also includes the high tension cord clip. Does not include the cylinder head gasket, sold separately.
I've parted out a 1985 Trac Clipper moped with a Daelim M-56E engine and an odometer reading of only 01707.9 (or 1,707.9) miles. The 1985 Trac Clipper moped parts are for sale at EdsSurplus eBay store. Many but not all of these parts will probably fit other Trac mopeds. This 1985 Trac Clipper moped was manufactured by Daelim Motor Co., Ltd., in Korea in April 1985.
Product description: Trac Clipper Moped Daelim M-56E Engine Cylinder Cover or Cylinder Head with mounting nuts and washers. This is the part the spark plug fits into and it is easy for a home mechanic to replace. Includes 4 M6 mounting bolts and 8 M6 mounting washers. Also includes the high tension cord clip. Does not include the cylinder head gasket, sold separately.
Product installation: This is the part the spark plug fits into and it is easy for a home mechanic to replace. I used a 3/8" drive thin 10mm deep socketto unscrew the 4 bolts that hold the cylinder cover or cylinder head in place. If you don't have deep sockets you will probably need to use an 1/4" or 3/8" extender bar between the 1/4" or 3/8" ratchet drive and a thin 1/4" or 3/8" 10mm socket.
According to the Dempsey Moped Repair Manual (available online), when you remove and reinstall the bolts holding it in place, be sure to do so in a gradual, balanced fashion, proceeding diagonally from bolt to bolt, and loosening/tightening each bolt the same amount a little at a time. (I'm guessing this is to keep the piston and cylinder and connecting rod perfectly balanced.) If you use a torque wrench for reinstallation keep the bolts all lightly torqued to the same level. (I don't know the recommended torque, but Tomos recommends a light 12Nm torque for their cylinder cover.)
Also remember that there is a metal cylinder head gasket (sold separately) that goes between the cylinder head and the cylinder. Also remember that the included M6 mounting bolts each have 2 M6 washers per bolt.
Also remember to insert the cylinder cover or cylinder head right side up. I'm not sure but when you look at it from the interior view, I'd guess the side with the interior indentation and the comparable exterior black horizontal mark on the right small round area is probably the top, and the high tension cord clip is on the interior top right side.
Product Condition: Threads are good. Exterior is dirty and has some dirt caked onto it. Interior combustion chamber part is caked with carbon and should be carefully cleaned. (If gentler techniques like carb cleaner don't remove all of the carbon, you might try using a light brass brush instead of a stronger metal brush to prevent or minimize scratching the metal.) Sold "as is". You could try Googling "moped carbon buildup" to learn more about carbon buildup. If you use great-quality 2-stroke oil like Amsoil, you can probably avoid future carbon buildup.
Moped Junkyard Part Number(s): This part is not listed for sale at the moped junkyard. This is for comparison only, so you know the exact part for sale. The seller is EdsSurplusForSale.net, not the moped junkyard.
